The Meteor Studio creates powerful partnerships and custom content, from social campaigns to high-profile global summits, for mission-aligned brands and organizations. We provide strategic support, live event production, digital content creation, podcast creation, social media support and more for organizations as varied as the Ford Foundation, the UN Foundation, and Gucci, and we have co-created initiatives like Vote For Abortion and Free Future.

Overview

As Director of The Meteor Studio, you will serve as a senior voice on the overall Meteor team, helping inform our strategy, vision and process as we grow. You will also be “command central” for the Studio itself, overseeing its large-scale creative and editorial partnerships, driving projects from the pitch stage through execution. This role is responsible for the overall project leadership, production management, and coordination of complex programs, such as in-person summits and multi-platform content series. This position will also contribute to partnership development for The Meteor Studio, working with senior leadership to develop and roll out a system to cultivate new business opportunities. Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Management

  • Serve as lead project manager with all clients, setting priorities, tracking deadlines, and confirming all deliverables across creative, editorial, and operations teams.
  • Where necessary, identify, hire and oversee producers to take on projects that you are not personally serving as lead on.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for The Meteor Studio, connecting stakeholders, facilitating communication, and tracking expectations and responsibilities for events, content series, and consulting projects.
  • Work with operations to develop and/or maintain already created systems and processes that will support high-quality and efficient workflow, such as client tracking systems, template documents, automating tasks (including with AI tools, where appropriate), and setting team-wide goals and deadlines.
  • Support prospecting process for new Meteor Studio clients, including participating in pitch meetings with brands, NGOs, and foundations.
  • As our business grows, develop marketing materials to share with prospective clients, including highlights of The Meteor Studio’s work.

Production, Programming and Creative

Depending on the client and partnership, you might be tasked with a wide range of production responsibilities that could include but not limited to the following: 

  • Executive producing events, ranging from small salons to major 1,000+-person convenings, working in partnership with The Meteor’s senior team on creative program ideas, talent booking, onboarding vendors and overseeing production.
  • Managing content production, overseeing the creation of short films, written editorial pieces, social media posts, and/or podcasts, depending on agreed-upon scope of work.

Time

This is a full-time role.

Compensation

Compensation for this position will range between $100-120K, commensurate with experience.

Equity: You will be granted an option to purchase shares.

Location

We are based in New York, but currently working in a hybrid capacity, and encourage all qualified applicants to apply. Some travel for events and off-sites will be necessary.
